For Diana and Santiago, receiving a scholarship meant much more than being able to continue their university studies. It was the chance to move closer to a goal that, until then, had seemed difficult to achieve.
Through the 2026 Scholarship Call promoted by Fundación Alsea in partnership with Elisia Education Hub, the home of Texas State University Querétaro, both found an opportunity to move forward with greater peace of mind, access new tools, and live a university experience with an international perspective.
Diana: When an opportunity changes your perspective
Diana knows where she wants to go. She will study Logistics and hopes that, in the future, what she learns can also become a way to make a positive impact on others.
For her, studying for a bachelor’s degree means much more than acquiring knowledge. It’s an opportunity to develop new skills, prepare for the professional world, discover what she’s capable of, and begin building the path she wants to follow.
That’s why, when she received the news that she had been selected for the scholarship, she felt a mixture of pride, nerves, and above all, gratitude.
Until then, studying at a university like this seemed like a distant dream. The scholarship changed that perspective. Suddenly, what had seemed out of reach began to take shape: a bachelor’s degree, a new community, and a university experience that could bring her closer to her goals.
The process also left her with an idea that she now wants to share with other young people: “Where you are today doesn’t have to determine how far you can go.”
Opportunities don’t always appear when you expect them. Sometimes, the first step is simply to look for them, trust in what you’ve built through your efforts, and dare to imagine something different.
Santiago: more time to build what comes next
For Santiago, the path points toward technology. He is currently in his third semester of Mechanical Engineering and knows he wants to develop his career in robotics. From the moment he started looking for a university, he knew he wanted an internationally focused experience that would prepare him to work and collaborate in global contexts.
At Arkansas State University Querétaro, he found an option aligned with that goal, especially because of the possibility of taking his classes in English and developing in an international environment.
The scholarship allowed him to take advantage of that experience in a different way. In addition to providing financial support for him and his family, the opportunity to live on campus changed something as everyday as how he uses his time: “The hours that I used to spend commuting to and from university can now be used to study, experiment, work on personal projects, or explore new ideas.”
And for someone who wants to dedicate themselves to innovation and robotics, that time also represents something very valuable: space to create.
An opportunity can open a path. You decide what to do with it.
The alliance between Elisia Education Hub and Fundación ALSEA seeks to expand access for young Mexicans to international higher education and bring this experience closer to students with high academic performance, English proficiency, leadership skills, and global aspirations.
The scholarships cover 100% of academic credits, as well as accommodation and food, helping to reduce some of the barriers that may exist between a student and the university education they seek.
But a scholarship alone doesn’t write a story. It’s written by the people who decide to seize the opportunity. Diana wants to use her education to help others. Santiago wants to use engineering to develop technology and build a career in robotics. Their paths are different, but they both stem from something very similar: a goal worth striving for.
Sometimes, it all starts with an opportunity. What you do with it can transform what comes next.
Because your career doesn’t begin when you graduate, it begins with the decisions, experiences, and connections you build from now on.
